Services: Psychotherapy
In psychotherapy sessions, we look at current issues and past history. We look at how past history might determine how we respond to current stressors. We work at developing healthier responses to current stressors over habitual responses which may be less healthy for us.
I like to start with learning what brings you into counseling and what you hope to get out of counseling. This helps me understand where to focus our time. We develop a set of treatment plan goals that are important for you to achieve and we work together to meet those goals. I like to see the treatment plan as a living document that changes and adjusts as you change, heal, and grow.
I use a variety of approaches including skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and internal family systems (IFS). By having multiple modalities to work from, I am able to tailor my sessions to best meet your unique needs.
